Some won’t share sacrifices they push on others

Big props to Digby for getting in the face of the Beltway insiders with her op-ed about shared and unshared sacrifices last week in The Hill, one of those publications that’s read by everybody in D.C. and by nobody everywhere else.

The way the “deficit hawks” and their pundit enablers dominate discussion about reforming Social Security and other entitlements, with routine calls for shared sacrifice, you might not think that poll after poll shows actual Americans are much more concerned about high unemployment than reducing the federal deficit, Digby points out.

“It’s easy to prescribe shared sacrifice when you personally will not sacrifice anything at all,” she calls out the millionaire pundits.
